Vodka and oysters were the perfect match for diamonds and fine jewellery when guests began their after-hours luxury shopping tour at our flagship showroom on the evening of May 4. Presented by Fairfax & Roberts, in conjunction with Tesla and Wentworth Galleries, this exclusive event was the ideal way for those who appreciate true luxury and innovation to experience Sydney’s finest jewellery, automotive technology and Australian art in a private and relaxed setting. Jewellery loving guests, including the fabulous Lauren Vickers (@laurenvickers), enjoyed browsing the Art Deco-inspired showroom of Fairfax & Roberts as well as tours of the on-site workshop and a mini gemstone masterclass. The intimacy of the affair allowed stylish guests like Nancy Dinis of Design Finder and stylist Jamie Azzopardi to view - and try on - some of Fairfax & Roberts most exquisite pieces, with champagne in hand, before making their way down Martin Place. In the Tesla showroom, they were greeted with a gourmet grazing table matched with boutique wines and the chance to experience some of the world’s most cutting-edge vehicle technology. Tesla is known for their innovation - leading the way in driverless cars and the new Tesla SUV, Model X, was the main drawcard, especially for those who enjoy accelerating from 0-100km/ph in 2.7secs. However, luxury cars aren’t just about speed and horsepower - as style-savvy guests like Black Diamondz’ creative director Adam Williams know, design elements are also a crucial part of creating a vehicle that is a lust-have item. A more leisurely pace was the order of the evening as the event continued at the beautiful Wentworth Galleries, where Australian and Aboriginal art was on display and available for viewing. Handmade chocolates and covetable art - including the chance for art lovers like Black Diamondz’ CEO Monika Tu to talk with the gallery’s most popular artist Ken Knight, known for his plein air landscapes - provided a sweet conclusion to an evening of luxury, exclusivity and innovation.
