Hosted by Natalie Barr, Fairfax & Roberts held an intimate Mother’s Day cocktail lunch at its Sydney showroom. The elegant gathering was designed as an immersive expression of artistry in all its forms, honouring not only the finished piece, but the journey of creation behind it.
The event brought together a curated guest list for an afternoon celebrating craftsmanship, connection and contemporary luxury, with the heart of the experience centered around what makes Fairfax & Roberts uniquely distinctive - A working jewellery workshop housed within its showroom, where pieces are designed and handcrafted on site. The event concept centred on revealing the often-unseen process behind exceptional craftsmanship, celebrating the beauty of objects being brought to life entirely by hand.

About the event
Throughout the afternoon, a series of live activations brought the event's creative philosophy to life across multiple disciplines, inviting guests to engage with artistry as a living, evolving process rather than simply a finished outcome.
Multidisciplinary artist Benjamin Shine created a live art installation during the event, showcasing his unique tulle creations, followed by a Q&A with Natalie Barr, offering insight into his creative process, materials, and artistic practice.

Fairfax & Roberts’ Head of Production and Design, Rebekah Schembri, alongside Master Diamond Setter, Michael Gregory, guided guests through the journey of fine jewellery creation, from gemstone sourcing and design through to metalwork and hand-setting. Fairfax & Roberts CEO Joshua Rogers spoke of the emotional journey of remodelling a piece of jewellery handed down as an heirloom, but updated to reflect someone's more recent and personal style.

Chef Jason Ludwig prepared lunch live, handcrafting fresh pasta as a theatrical culinary experience. Guests were invited to visit the pasta atelier, where each dish was made to order and featured truffle-infused gourmet pasta tossed in a Parmigiano wheel and a roasted tomato pasta with capers. The lunch was paired with Pommery Brut Royal Champagne.

A violinist from Vicello Strings moved throughout the lunch, adding a dynamic live musical layer to the experience and further reinforcing the immersive celebration of artistry across every touchpoint.
