Shamballa Jewels

Shamballa Jewels was founded by the brothers Mads and Mikkel Kornerup in Copenhagen, Denmark. We make precious jewellery that encourages the possibility of connecting to our inner compassion and wisdom.

In 2001 Mads Kornerup designed what is known today as the iconic Shamballa Bracelet. The bracelet comprised of diamond studded gold beads strung together by the ancient macramé technique. Together the brothers developed the bracelet designs further, and they have since expanded our repertoire to include rings, earrings, cufflinks and necklaces. Today, the spirit of Shamballa Jewels remains equally fuelled by innovation and tradition.

Star rap musician Jay Z was the first to custom order a Shamballa Bracelet. Today, we are honoured to count Karl Lagerfeld, HRH Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, HRH Crown Princess Mette Marit of Norway, Carine Roitfeld, Gwyneth Paltrow, Diane Von Furstenberg and Giorgio Armani amongst the discerning collectors of our jewellery. Loree Rodkin

Loree Rodkin produces the most iconic fine jewellery which blurs the distinction between modern and medieval. Noted as a non-conformist visionary, her artisan engraving, ornate decoration and impeccable embellishment is done so by hand for that intimate immediacy. White gold with black rhodium plate and a lavish use of diamonds are just two of Rodkin’s signatures that mark her treasures with unbridled decadence.

Encelade

ENCELADE is the French name for Enceladus, a natural moon of Saturn, which was discovered in 1789, the year of the French Revolution. The date of the moon’s discovery was the determining factor in the choice of name for the brand, since the two cousins who founded it – also French – have revolutionised the concept of luxury accessories.

Enceladus orbits Saturn within its outermost ring, the E ring. A similar ring concept has been retained in the ENCELADE brand, becoming the technical and aesthetic leitmotif across all of the collections.

Thus, the cufflinks (comprising up to 56 elements) have multiple rings rotating around each other, thanks to an ingenious ball bearing system inspired by the Haute Horlogerie philosophy.
The ball bearings used (between 8 and 12 for each pair of cufflinks – a record for this type of product) are among the smallest in the world. They are completely silent (a mark of extraordinary quality), with a maximum rotation capacity in the region of 150,000 revolutions per minute.
The product of more than two years of development, the final result is spectacular, with a design which has been patented in most countries of the world – a rare feat in this field.
The extreme care with which these pieces are made is worthy of the Haute Horlogerie tradition, with hand-bevelled details and a polished, sanded finish.
